The JRB Collection Has Landed

April 13, 2006

What, ho, why do those birds chirp so merrily? What is that glorious scent upon the breeze? Seems not the sky ever more cerulean? Why doth nature rejoice so? Yea, verily, finally after months of speculation, Hal Leonard has released “The Jason Robert Brown Collection,” featuring full piano and vocal scores for twenty-four of my songs. Included are several previously unpublished numbers, including “Someone To Fall Back On” and “See I’m Smiling,” as well as all the old JRB favorites like “Stars and the Moon” and “The Old Red Hills of Home.” You can buy it right here from Amazon.com. I also wrote an introduction for this collection, and you can read that right on this site, here.

Here’s a list of all the songs included:

From Songs for a New World (1995):

Stars and the Moon

I’m Not Afraid Of Anything

Just One Step

Hear My Song

From Parade (1998):

The Old Red Hills of Home

The Picture Show

You Don’t Know This Man

All The Wasted Time

From The Last Five Years (2002):

See I’m Smiling

Moving Too Fast

A Summer In Ohio

The Next Ten Minutes

From Lauren Kennedy:

Songs of Jason Robert Brown (2003):

And I Will Follow

Letting You Go

If I Told You Now

Dreaming, Wide Awake

From Urban Cowboy, The Musical (2003):

It Don’t Get Better Than This

Mr. Hopalong Heartbreak

From Wearing Someone Else’s Clothes (2005):

Someone To Fall Back On

Getting Out

I Could Be In Love With Someone Like You

Nothing In Common

Grow Old With Me

Coming Together

I hope you all enjoy the new collection, and now maybe you can stop writing me every ten minutes to ask me if one of these songs has been published. Sing, play, spread the word! It’s really exciting finally to have these songs out in the world in this great big book. Now go buy it so I can feed my family.
